Savannah Moon, DO

Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon

Dr. Savannah Moon

Background

Savannah Moon, DO

“Your patient always comes first.” Dr Savannah Moon’s father instilled this principle at a young age.

Raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Dr. Savannah Moon is the daughter of renowned plastic surgeon Dr. Harry K. Moon and mother a critical care RN, she grew up in a household of medicine.

A scholar-athlete, Savannah Moon attended St. Thomas Aquinas and earned the Dean’s Academic Scholarship to Tulane University, where she excelled in Division I Cross Country and Track, becoming team captain during her senior year. Driven by her passion for medicine, she completed a research year at the University of Miami Stem Cell Institute before pursuing her medical degree at Nova Southeastern University.

Education

She honed her surgical skills during her five-year General Surgery Residency at Cleveland Clinic Florida. She received Junior and Senior Resident of the Year awards during her training and obtained board certification from the American Board of Surgery in June of 2020.

During her General Surgery Residency, she was invited to a pediatric surgery mission trip in Kigali, Rwanda. The experience was humbling and transformative. During her surgical training, she witnessed how plastic surgery is practiced beyond the limitations of other surgical specialties. Plastic surgeons pursue the surgical solution regardless of the patient’s age, anatomic location, or complexity of the deformity. This was the great attraction for her to plastic surgery.

Dr. Savannah Moon completed a competitive three-year Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Florida. She then further specialized in Facial Aesthetics and Pediatric Plastic Surgery, during her Craniofacial Surgery Fellowship at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Coral Gables, Florida (formerly Miami Children’s Hospital). Dr. Savannah Moon is currently board eligible with the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Savannah Moon understands the personal and professional commitments required to being an elite plastic surgeon; the commitment to lifelong learning. She has presented at various plastic surgery meetings and has published in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks. Her extensive training in reconstructive trauma, oncologic surgery, pediatric congenital, and craniofacial procedures laid the foundation for her approach, emphasizing form, function, and personalized care.

Continuing her father’s legacy, Dr. Savannah Moon co-founded Himmarshee Plastic Surgery with Dr Stephanie Scurci. They offer a comprehensive range of plastic and reconstructive services. Committed to our community, they value building meaningful relationships with their patients.

Beyond the operating room, Dr. Savannah Moon cherishes time with her family, husband, and daughter- whether boat cruises on the weekends, outdoor excursions, or exploring international destinations.

Himmarshee Plastic Surgery eagerly awaits the opportunity to extend Dr. Savannah Moon’s expertise, promising exceptional patient care and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
