Before breast revisionary surgery, your surgeon may prep you for the procedure by asking you to fast for a certain amount of time or avoid certain medications such as blood thinners. It is important to follow all pre-operative instructions precisely, ensuring a smooth surgery and recovery process.
On the day of your surgery, before beginning the procedure, your surgeon will walk you through the procedure explaining the techniques being used, as discussed in your consultation.
The first step will be to administer a type of anesthesia to numb the area and minimize discomfort.
Next, your surgeon will make the incisions on the breasts. The type of incision used will vary depending upon the type of procedures that will be performed, whenever possible Dr. Moon and Dr. Scurci will utilize existing incisions from previous surgery. The existing implants will be taken out, and new ones put in their place. The surgeon will also make adjustments to the placement, and size of your breasts if this is what you discussed beforehand.
Once the new implants are in place, the final step is to close the incision using sutures.
As your surgeon completes the procedure, you will be taken into a recovery room while the anesthesia wears off.
We advise every breast revisionary surgery patient to arrange for transportation to and from the practice on the day of your appointment.
